I'm looking for a soft picture, not a hard, crisp picture. More impressionistic than realistic. The watercolor by Joy Chen of a yellow house is a good example. If possible, I like to add our two cats to the painting - one on the walkway and the other in the flowers - hardly noticeable to anyone but us. Again, they would not be sharply painted, but we'd know them. I'd ask the artist to recommend oil versus watercolor based on what he or she feels will work best with their ideas. I tried to request Joy Chen but it won't come up. So I do so here.
